Summer Reading!

So what are you reading this summer? Summer is the perfect time to read. I have finished Stones into Schools (Mortenson) which is a sequel to Three Cups of Tea. This is the story of what Greg continues to work on building and setting up schools in Afghanistan and Pakistan. This story was not as fluid reading but still worth while.
Many schools in our area are doing community of readers with the first book. Also check out the wonderful website that goes along with the Three Cups of Tea book, you will find many ideas and activities that can go along with the story.

Inventory??

It is that time of year and I am gearing up for inventory. How many others are doing the same?? Not sure. Wish I could hear from some of them.

Equipment-barcoding

I am working on bar coding the equipment- flip cameras, digital, video- every other day they change their minds . So I guess I will go back and see if I can fix it! NOt quite sure when that will be.
The Battle of the books is coming up and I need to get ready for that. That is fun! I want to get the kids excited about it.

My article "Using Book jackets for library games "will be an online extra for Library Sparks March issue! I haven't seen it yet so they may have changed the title a bit . If you get Library Sparks check it out! If you don't I will put up a link when I know its there. In the May June issue they will carry one of my tips that I sent in.

Yikes!

Yes, I know it ' been a while that what happens sometimes . Have done several presentations at school besides the regular daily work. S you know how that goes . Will post my photos of my presentation when I get a chance. Don't forget to look for my tip coming up soon in Library Sparks. (March on line extra I believe)

File

I am still working on my file cabinets at school. I have one more to go and I will be finished on my main files at the circulation desk. This includes most all my files since I do not have an office. My other file cabinets are another thing - but I won't get to them this year.
What Have I done with my files? First thing that was done was , I had hanging file frames put in. Then I can do a section at a time and put folders into hanging files .
